Our oldest of the pack is a three and a half year old female Rhodesian Ridgeback, Keana. Born on Halloween night of 2002, she proved to be quite a trixter from day one. She was a high energy willful and unrully puppy. A nightmare for any first time dog owner! There was very little room for errors so we started taking obedience lessons under supervision of Jeff Woods, owner of the Misty Pines Dog Park in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This proved to the best decision we have ever made. With professional help and support of dog trainer/behavior specialist, Kevin Simpson, we were able to gain control of our puppy's behavior. Although, our progress was slow but very steady. We have made an ambitious goal for Keana to get certified in CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and TDI (Therapy Dog International) as well as to compete for AKC CD Title before she turned two years of age. In April of 2004, Keana became Canine Good Citizen and six months later she became a Therapy Dog.

Our training was incorporated in to every day's activity. It was fun and simple. Everything we did was positively reinforced and built up to a desirable standard.

On a day of our obedience trial, Keana performed with high marks! Both on and off leash steps were executed with high precision. We were very pleased and proud of Keana.

She is still in training for CD title as well conformation.
